JASON EDWARD SMITH

Jason Edward Smith, 56, passed into the arms of the Lord suddenly on March 17, 2023, at his residence in Crandall, TX. Jason was born on March 7, 1967 in Eagle Lake to the late Sandra and Edd (Richard) Smith.

Jason grew up in the Eagle Lake area and attended Rice Consolidated High School where he graduated from in 1985. After high school, Jason went into the trades working as a plumber for many years. His family fondly remembers Jason for his love of fishing and hunting, but what they will always remember him for is his love for his family and his love of being a dad.

Jason is survived by his sons Justin Smith and his wife Rowena of Wharton, Texas, Chris Smith and his wife Stephanie of Midland, Texas, Shane Wilkinson and his wife Jacy of Kaufman, Texas and his daughter Bailey Smith of Dallas, Texas. He is also survived by his brother Brian Smith and his wife Renee of Grand Saline, Texas, his sister Amy Adkins and her husband Rod of Eagle Lake and his grandchildren Mira, Jackson, Savanah, West and Brooks and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends were invited to his viewing on Saturday, March 25 from 2-4 p.m. at the Wharton Funeral Home 515 E. Boling Hwy. Wharton, Texas. His funeral service began at 4 p.m. Interment was private.
