Francis Kasper, 55, passed away on Jan. 2, 2022.

Francis, affectionately known as Boogie, was born on May 4, 1966 to John and Aileen Kasper in Weimar.

His Catholic faith was very important to him and he learned a lot attending daily mass in his early years staying with Sister Florence at the convent in Victoria.

Francis spent his years at various group homes in Victoria, Schulenburg, Georgetown and La Grange while coming home on weekends and holidays to enjoy family time and play with his beloved dogs. His final stay was at Avant Residential Home in Brookshire, where he was lovingly cared for as his health declined.

Francis enjoyed being around people and always had a smile, a kiss or thumbs up for everyone he met.

Francis is preceded in death by his father, Johnnie Kasper, and his grandparents, John and Bertha Kasper, and Fred and Elma Ulrich.

He is survived by his mother, Aileen Kasper and his brothers and sisters, Barney and wife Jimmi, Cynthia Kasper Seydler and husband Larry, Maurice and wife Connie, and Jean Kasper Blaha and husband Freddie.

He is also survived by his nieces and nephews who remember many fun times with their Uncle Boogie as well as several great-nieces and nephews with the latest about to be born. The family says they know Francis would have enjoyed seeing her and calling her “spoiled baby” like he did the others.

There will be a family funeral mass for Francis at a later date with burial in St. Michael Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lifelong Learning Center, 1701 East Avenue, Katy, Texas 77493 or a charity of one’s choice.

Francis was born a special needs child, and while some days were hard, his life brought special gifts to everyone who knew him that they will always treasure. Fly high, sweet Francis. You have earned your wings.

Services entrusted to Hubbard Funeral Home, 216 East Jackson Street, Weimar, Texas 78962. Please log on to www.hubbardfuneralhometx.com to view Francis’s Tribute page and to view/sign his online guestbook.
