Kelley Wayne Ricks, of Sheridan, passed away June 18 at the age of 59. He was born to Duane M. and Kathleen Joyce (Kelley) Ricks Sept. 25, 1960 in Houston. He married Linda Schneider June 1, 2018.
Kelley enjoyed technology, knowing how things work, and chess. His true passion was improving things. His favorite things were bourbon, RC Cola, knowledge, and family. He will always be remembered for his dislike of barbers and liberals. Kelley was always ready to help a friend. He was one of the most capable people you would ever meet. The man could do anything.
After a misspent youth lasting roughly 40 years, Kelley came into his own and began to make a good life for himself and those closest to him. He wanted it to be known that COVID-19 was not the cause of his death, and had no impact on his health or lack thereof. He will be missed terribly.
Kelley was preceded in death by his parents, Duane and Kathleen Ricks, and half-brother, Jerald Ricks.
Kelley is survived by his wife, Linda Schneider, of Sheridan; stepsons Jim Schneider of Sheridan, and Robert Sloan and wife Rebecca of Sheridan; brother James Watson; sisters Charleen Watson and Glenda Ricks; four nieces, one nephew, and too many friends to name.
No services are scheduled for Kelley at this time.
Memorials may be made to Lucies Project (Local Unity for Canines In Emergency Situations), a dog rescue that was near and dear to Kelley’s heart. P.O. Box 325, Sheridan, Texas 77475, 979-232-1508, or firstname.lastname@example.org.
