Dean Scott Klump, age 52, passed away on December 14, 2019 in Columbus, Texas. He was born to Glenn and Gladys (Bertling) Klump on December 27, 1966 in Columbus, Texas.

Scott attended and graduated from Columbus High School. He went on to attend The University of Texas at Austin, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He was a science teacher at Columbus Junior High School for 16 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed reading, drawing, and spending time with his two sons. His hobbies included traveling, photography, and collecting prehistoric fossils and rocks.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Gladys Klump, and his niece, Bella Valenzuela.

Scott is survived by his partner, Robert Cerda of Shaws Bend, TX; sons, Michael Chavez of Shaws Bend, TX, Robert Chavez of Shaws Bend, TX; step-daughter, Margie Chavez of Houston, TX, and Aric Cerda of Corpus Christi, TX; brother, Chad Klump and wife Elizabeth of Port Arthur, TX; and nieces, Brittany Klump and Angie Klump.

It was Scott’s wishes to not have a service.
