Charlotte “Charlie” Taylor Martinez was born Dec. 19, 1955 in Houston to Alan Roy Taylor and Laverne Bush Taylor.

Charlie graduated from Marion High School in 1974. She was a professional model and was one of the Derrick Dolls Cheerleaders for the Houston Oilers.

She also worked as an airline stewardess for Delta Airlines. Charlie married Emil James Martinez in Columbus, Texas Oct. 27, 2009. She worked as a paramedic for both Katy EMS and Brookshire EMS. Charlie enjoyed cooking and baking, collecting several thousand cookbooks over the years.

Charlotte “Charlie” Taylor Martinez passed away Thursday, Dec. 19 in Katy at 64 years of age.

She is survived by her loving husband, Emil “Chico” Martinez of Weimar; step-daughter, Chelsea Martinez and her boyfriend Jacob Mc-Donald of Austin; parents, Roy and Laverne Taylor of Katy; brother, Gary Allen Taylor and his wife Debra of Katy; nephews, Clint Taylor, Brent Taylor, Trey Taylor, and numerous great nieces and other loving family members and a host friends.

The family received friends Thursday, Dec. 26 at Schmidt Funeral Home Grand Parkway in Katy. A rosary was recited Friday, Dec. 27 at the Queen of Peace Catholic Church, in Sweet Home, where mass was celebrated at 1 p.m. with Rev. Dominic Antwi-Boasiako, celebrant. Interment at Queen of Peace Cemetery, in Sweet Home.
