Gary Paul Mikulenka, 66, passed away Oct. 8 in Moravia. He was born to James Edward and La-Verne “Pete” (Chollett) Mikulenka May 23, 1953 in Columbus.

Gary was a former drag-line operator. He worked in fence construction as well as ranching.

Gary served in the U.S. Army from 1972 to 1979 and was in the Vietnam War.

Gary was preceded in death by his father and brother, James Russell “Rusty” Mikulenka.

Gary is survived by his mother, LaVerne “Pete” Mikulenka of Columbus.

Visitation was Thursday, Oct. 10 at Henneke Funeral Home and at church Friday, Oct. 11. Funeral service was Friday, Oct.11 at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Burial followed at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Columbus.

Serving as pallbearers were Bob Tait, John Polach, Roland Gassmann, Ronnie Sevcik, Travis Herchek, Clayton Wessels, Doak Hartley and Bobby Lowery.

Honorary pallbearers were Rey Rodriguez, Bob Moentnish, Paul Cernosek, Gilbert Elizondo and Nancy Cernosek.

Memorials may be given to St. Anthony Catholic Church or St. Anthony Catholic School, P.O. Box 669, Columbus, TX 78934 or charity of your choice.
