An influx of newcomers has coach Travis Combs thrilled about the Rice Consolidated High School girls powerlifting season. Two juniors who are using the sport to prepare for softball and five freshmen make up his first-time lifters. Bradi Freeman, Reagan Nelson, Jenny Flores, Vanessa Marquez and Jazmine Williams are the freshmen.
