Clarietta Knippel Ripper, 85, of Glidden, passed away Sept. 12 in Columbus.

She was born June 4, 1936 to Erwin and Lottie Lee Knippel, in La Grange. On Aug. 7, 1954, she married Lawrence L. Ripper at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Columbus.

Clarietta was a co-owner/operator of a service station, liquor store, convenience store, bus station and laundromat; secretary of Columbus Plumbing and Weido Plumbing; and a homemaker. She enjoyed playing dominoes and cards as well as baking.

She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Catholic Daughter serving 50 years, Altar Society, and St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery Board.

Clarietta is survived by son, Jody Ripper of Glidden.; four grandchildren, Dawn Ripper of Columbus; Amy Craven of Glidden; Jamie and wife, Whitney Ripper of Weimar; and Steven Raabe, Jr. of Columbus; five great-grandchildren, Trenton Kneblik, Braxton Kneblik, Kiara Craven, Kolson Craven, and Jameson Ripper; brother, Erwin Knippel and wife Margie of Columbus; sister-in-law, Mildred Ripper of Houston, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Lawrence L. Ripper; daughter Kay Beth Ripper Raabe.

Services were held at Henneke Funeral Home Friday, Sept. 17 at 10 a.m. with a rosary starting at 9:30 a.m. Father Augustine N. Asante and Deacon Robert Jasek officiated. Visitation was Friday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Burial was in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Columbus.

Pallbearers were Jamie Ripper, Trenton Kneblik, Braxton Kneblik, Steven Raabe, Jr., Scott Ripper, and Charlie Wanjura, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers were Kiara Craven, Kolson Craven, Jameson Ripper, Monroe Ripper, Maynard Ripper, Kyle Moore, Jon Matus, Eric Braden, and Brian Hajovsky.
