Robert Gregg “Bob” Rutta, 59, of Columbus, passed away Nov. 2 in Katy.

He was born on Aug. 28, 1962, to Sidney G. Rutta and Marjorie (Bridges) Rutta in Columbus. He graduated from Columbus High School in 1980, and attended Blinn College in Brenham, and Sam Houston State University in Huntsville.

Bob was a partner at Elliott & Waldron Abstract Company where he worked as an abstractor and title examiner for many years.

He was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Columbus.

Bob enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially duck and goose hunting.

Bob is survived by his mother Marjorie B. Rutta; brother Barry Douglas Rutta; nephew Austin Jef frey Rutta; aunts Martha Rutta, Margaret Bridges, and Judy Bridges; and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father Sidney G. Rutta and his brother Brian Jeffrey Rutta.

A graveside service was Monday, Nov. 8 at Odd Fellows Rest Cemetery in Columbus. Pastor Victor Morrison officiated.

Burial took place in Odd Fellows Rest Cemetery in Columbus.
