Kathleen Rose “Kathy” Staff Schindler, of Columbus, passed away peacefully May 1 in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Kathleen was born in Nada to Anna Schramm Staff and Frank J. Staff on Nov. 25, 1938. She married Alfred E. “Boobie” Schindler Sept. 2, 1961 and they were blessed with six children; Al (Roxanne), Anna, Eddie (Cate), Dana, Vernon (Ilene), Wade and fiancé Amanda.

Grandchildren include Garrett (Casey), Kaitlyn, Cora (Jay), Cason, Cassy (Matthew), Craig (Allison), Riley, Ross and fiancé Lauren, Ava, Layla, Keardon, Bryce, Lainey, Lucas, Jace and Trinity. Great grandchildren include Brooks, Nash and Dawsyn Schindler, Owen and Emilia Althaus. Kathleen loved her numerous nieces, nephews and friends very deeply. A sister, Albertha Dettling, and her sister-in-law, Rose Staff, also survive her.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Leonard Staff, sister Betty Urbanovsky, and stepsister Angela Maleck.

Kathleen had many talents that she shared with her family and her community. She is known for her floral creations, her angelic singing and yodeling, especially “The Cattle Call”.

Funeral service will be Thursday, May 5 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Nada. Fr. Ed Schoellmann will be officiate. Visitation at church will be from 10 – 11 a.m.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 4 from 5 – 7 p.m. at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus. A Catholic Daughter Rosary will be at 7 p.m.

Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Nada.

Pallbearers are Kenneth Staff, Philip Urbanovsky, Frank Staff, Steve Urbanovsky, Carl Dettling, Johnny Schinder, Chris Dettling and Joe Schindler. Honorary pallbearers are Robert Henneke, Shirley Supak, Lucille Neuendorff and Sharon Johnson.
