Devon Marie Schindler Tiffin, 40, of Leander, departed this earth Thursday, May 19, and now calls Heaven home.

Devon was born Oct. 16, 1981 to Joe and Hope Schindler in Wharton. She was a 2000 graduate of Columbus High School, and a 2004 graduate of University of Texas in Austin.

Devon married the love of her life, Cat Tiffin, on July 26, 2008.

Devon and Cat had sons Maverick, 8, and Beckett, age three.

She was a beautiful and faithful wife, mother, daughter and friend to so many who will miss her. Devon waged a courageous battle against cancer for three years, and though it took over her body, her spirit shined brightly through it all and continues to radiate.

Devon’s grace, wisdom, peacefulness, faith, sense of humor, and depth of understanding inspired all.

She taught in Leander ISD for over 10 years until she began her fight against cancer. Devon loved spending as much time as possible with her boys and husband.

She so enjoyed nature and listening to the birds early in the morning while drinking coffee on her back porch.

Devon loved to read and instilled that love of books in her sons.

She also loved music of all kinds and enjoyed dancing with Cat and the boys.

Devon is survived by her husband, Cat Tiffin; sons Maverick and Beckett; parents Joe and Hope Schindler; in-laws Pat and Steve Tiffin; grandmother CoyDell Schindler; sisters-in-law Trish (Joel) and Amyee (Kelly) and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Stanley and Lucille Novak, and Joe R. Schindler.

A celebration of Devon’s life will be June 4 at 2 p.m. at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church, 606 W 15th Street in Austin.
