It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Victoria Delgado, a loving and vibrant soul, who brought joy and kindness to all who knew her. Victoria’s journey in life began on March 23, 1939, in Wharton, TX, where she was born to the late Victorino Zepeda and Caterina Almaguer Zepeda.

Victoria lived a life filled with incredible experiences, embracing the beauty of the world through her love for travel. Her wanderlust took her to countless destinations, and she particularly relished exploring different cultures and cuisines. Whether it was soaking up the sun on picturesque beaches, exploring the historic streets of European cities, or embarking on exhilarating cruises, Victoria’s spirit for adventure was infectious.

But more than her love for exploring, Victoria had an unmatched gift for connecting with people. Warm-hearted and genuinely interested in others, she never met a stranger. Victoria’s infectious laughter and genuine smile could brighten even the darkest of days. Her legacy will forever live on in the hearts of her beloved family and friends.

Victoria Delgado peacefully passed away on Jan. 6, 2024, leaving behind a cherished legacy and a deep void in the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know her. She is survived by her loving children: JoAnn D. Ortega of Rosenberg, David Delgado, Jr. and wife, Lori of Bonus, John Daniel Delgado and wife, Lisa of Bonus; Albert Delgado and wife, Letty of Columbus and Roy Zepeda of Boling; sisters: Janie Sepeda, Celia Lopez, Pat Peña, Connie Allen and Josie Luera; grandchildren: Krystal Zepeda, Kathleen Crayton, Zachary Zepeda, John McLeroy, Jr., Luke McLeroy, Manuel Ortega III, Ashley V Navarro, Bobby Delgado, Anna Delgado Zamora, John Daniel Delgado II and Matthew Ryan Delgado, and great-grandchildren: Kendra Garza, Penelope Crayton, Axel Crayton, Danielle Skye Zamora, and Andre B. Zamora, who will forever hold her in their hearts. In addition to her parents, Victoria was preceded in death by her husband, David Delgado; brothers: Jesse Sepeda of Corpus Christi and Lupe Sepeda of Wharton.

Family and friends are warmly invited to gather to pay tribute to the remarkable woman that Victoria was and find solace in sharing stories, laughter and tears.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 12, 2024, starting at 5 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Wharton Funeral Home Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024, at 10 a.m. with Fathers Antonio Perez and Robert F. Guerra officiating. A Rite of burial and committal will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Roy Zepeda, David Delgado, Jr., John Delgado, Albert Delgado, Manuel Ortega III, and Matthew Delgado. Honorary pallbearers are John Daniel Delgado II, Zachary Zepeda, Bobby Delgado, John McLeroy, Luke McLeroy.

Rest in eternal peace, dear Victoria. Your light will forever shine upon us, reminding us to embrace life’s journey with love, laughter and an unwavering spirit of adventure.
