WELDON ANTON NEUENDORFF

Weldon Anton Neuendorff, 96, passed away at home on Friday, Dec. 23, 2022, in Brenham, Texas.

He was born in Bernardo, Texas on July 25, 1926, to Leander Neuendorff and Emily Bock. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Roch’s Catholic Church in Mentz, Texas.

He graduated from Columbus High School in 1942 and The University of Texas School of Pharmacy in 1963. On Sept. 10, 1951, he married Lillie Louise Georg at St. Roch’s Catholic Church.

Weldon and Louise were owners of Neuendorff Pharmacy, and he was an active pharmacist for over 50 years.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Mary’s Cemetery Board, Lions Club, Knights of Columbus, American Legion, VFW, and the Sons of Hermann. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II as a member of the 1st Cavalry in Tokyo.

He loved gardening and fishing, telling good stories and sharing a laugh with you, working with his hands, building things, and he always had a positive attitude and loved being with his family.

Weldon is survived by his children, Susan Swan, Paula Buchalla (Darrell), Kay Neuendorff, and Keith Neuendorff (Sherry), numerous grandchi ldren, great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, as well as numerous nieces and nephews; brother, Virgil Neuendorff; and special friends Dylan, Kelli, and Darrin Roche.

Weldon was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Neuendorff, parents Leander and Emily Neuendorff, father and mother-in-law Lily and Otto Georg, sisters and brothers-in-law, Viola and Elmo Hoppe, Eunice and Kermit Kickler, brother and sister-in-law Charles and Anita Neuendorff, sister-in-law Rose Neuendorff, and sons-inlaw Randall Elston and David Swan.

Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2022, with a rosary following at 7 p.m. Funeral Services were held Thursday Dec. 29, 2022, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial followed at Calvary Catholic Cemetery with the reception at St. Mary’s PAC.

Serving as pallbearers: Keith Neuendorff, Thomas Neuendorff, Robert Neuendorff, Darrin Roche, Atwood Kenjura and David Chovanec. Honorary pallbearers: Darrell Buchalla, Joseph Neuendorff, James Brod, Dylan Roche, Eric Alford and Gary Sonnenburg.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Cathol ic Church-Brenham.
