Dolores Fay Wessels, 87, of Columbus, passed away June 21 in Columbus.

She was born Nov. 26, 1934 to Erwin H. Reuter and Edna (Michael) Reuter in Round Top. On Nov. 28, 1954 she married Wilburn “Boots” Wessels.

Dolores worked as a sales associate for many years at Style Shop, Waldvogels, and PK Shato Cleaners.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Dolores enjoyed playing boo ray cards, dancing, gardening, sausage making day, cleaning the camp house, and cooking and serving everyone.

Dolores is survived by her sons Richard Wessels and Doug Wessels and wife Anne; grandchildren Jenna Summers and husband Eric, Audrey Mooney and husband Ryan, Matthew Wessels and wife Amanda, Clayton Wessels and wife Codi, Casey Schindler and husband Garrett; great-grandchildren Harper Summers, June Summers, Hayes Mooney, Walker Mooney, Beau Wessels, Kora Wessels, Cade Wessels, Annie Wessels, Brooks Schindler, Nash Schindler, and Dawsyn Schindler.

She was preceded in death by her parents Erwin Reuter and Edna Reuter; husband Wilburn “Boots” Wessels; sister Lorine Domaschk; brothers Wilburn Reuter, Lavern “John” Reuter, and Kervin Reuter.

Funeral service was Tuesday, June 28 at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus. Deacon Sandye Fletcher officiated. Visitation was held one hour before the funeral service.

Graveside service and burial took place in Rutersville Cemetery in Rutersville.

Pallbearers were Matthew Wessels, Eric Summers, Ryan Mooney, Clayton Wessels and Garrett Schindler.
