Allan “Bubba” Ray Woytek, age 63, of Columbus, passed away Apr. 21 in Columbus. He was born to Albin “Sonny” Lawrence and Emma Jean (Tesch) Woytek Oct. 18, 1958 in Hallettsville. Allan met his wife Cheryl Wick Woytek in the spring of 1985 and married her on Dec. 2, 1994, in Columbus.

Allan worked as a welder for LSC in Houston for over 30 years before retiring in 2015. In his free time you could find him hunting, fishing, working cows or on the tractor. Allan loved to garden and had an impressive array of fruits, vegetables and flowers. Most evenings you could find Allan in his garden watering and talking to his plants and chickens.

Allan was preceded in death by his father, Albin “Sonny” Woytek.

Allan is survived by: his wife of 27 years, Cheryl Woytek of Columbus; mother, Emma Woytek of Hallettsville; sons Lance Woytek and wife Nicole of Sweet Home, and Hunter Woytek and girlfriend Skye Mewis of Bellville; sisters, Debbie Petrosky and husband, Gregory of Columbus, and Pam Hollmann and husband Michael of Bernardo; and brother, Albin Woytek and wife Jackie of Cat Spring.

Visitation will be Friday, Apr. 29 at 1 p.m. at Henneke Funeral Home, with a Celebration of Life starting at 2 p.m. A private burial will take place at Brune Cemetery in Shaws Bend.
