Eusebe A. “Zeb” Lauzon, 70, of Columbus, Texas, passed away on June 26, 2021, in Katy, Texas.

He was born on September 28, 1950 to Eusebe Aime Lauzon, Jr. and Joyce Marie (Schultz) Lauzon in Galveston, Texas. On May 22, 1971, he married the love of his life DyAnn Elaine Schonenberg.

Zeb worked as an optician for over forty years. He was part owner of Columbus Optical and had a very special bond with the people he worked with.

He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Zeb attended Texas Lutheran College and was a member of the Sigma Lambda Chi fraternity. His fraternity brothers were lifelong friends, and for the past fifty years, they remained dedicated to each other.

Zeb was a devoted husband and father and put his family on a pedestal. He was an intense family man and his children and granddaughters meant everything to him. Zeb had a love for hunting and enjoyed the time he spent with his Bernardo hunting buddies and his Brackettville hunting buddies. His favorite pastime was golf and his goal at the end when hospitalized was to play golf once again. He was a city boy turned country boy, and he loved Columbus and the many friends he made over the years.

He had a passion for music. Many times he would play album after album late into the evening. He became an aficionado of music of the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s.

Zeb is survived by his wife of fifty years, DyAnn Lauzon; father Eusebe Aime Lauzon, Jr.; daughter Frances Ann “Tootie” Gillespie and husband Vincent; son E. A. “Sonny” Lauzon and wife Tiffany; granddaughters Lily Gillespie and Brynn Gillespie; sister Lisa Kreger; brothers-in-law Curtiss Schonenberg and wife Marian and H. G. “Dutch” Schonenberg and wife Cathy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother Joyce Lauzon; mother-in-law Ann Derr; father-in-law Francis “Frank” Derr.
