Leon Frank Zweschper, age 78, passed away Jan. 13 in Weimar. He was born to Leo and Matilda (Muenster) Zweschper Aug. 16, 1941 in Frey-burg. He married Linda Louise Skutca Aug. 17, 1968.

Leon was a retired manufacturing planner at UTEX in Weimar. Leon enjoyed playing dominos, spending time with his grandkids, and lemon meringue pie.

Leon is preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Matilda Zweschper; infant son, John Zweschper; brother and sister-in-law, James and Loretta Ripper Zweschper; brothers-in-law, Pete Steinberg and Joe Fabian; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mildred Evelyn Gundelach and Frank H. Skutca, Jr.; and niece Barbara Fabian.

Leon is survived by his loving wife Linda Zweschper of Weimar; daughter, Amy Zweschper of Round Rock; sons Kevin Zweschper and wife Staci of Farmington, New Mexico, Terry Zweschper of Round Rock, Jason Zweschper and wife Jenny of Pleasanton; sisters Grace Steinberg of Hallettsville, Ruth Fabian of High Hill, and Esther Kelley and husband Johnny Carl “JC” of Hallettsville; grandchildren Zoie Zweschper, Zachary Zweschper, Mac Zweschper, Puryear Zweschper and Brooklyn Zweschper.

Funeral was Saturday, Jan. 18 at St. Mary Catholic Church in High Hill, with Father Tim Kosler officiating. Visitation was Friday, Jan. 17 with a Parish rosary at 7 p.m. at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus. Burial followed at St. Michael Catholic Cemetery in Weimar.

Serving as pallbearers were David Kelley, Richard Fabian, Carl Steinberg, Danny Kelley, Kenneth Fabian and Mike Zweschper. Honorary pallbearer was Patrick Fabian.
