Cardinal roundballers trade a win for a loss
Columbus went up against Tidehaven Jan. 15 and left the Tigers in the dust with a 58-28 win. Upson was the high scorer with 15 total points. He was followed by Wray with 13 points (which included a 3-point shot).
Braden and Pitchford recorded 10 and 8 points, respectively, with each hitting two 3-point shots.
The Cards dropped one to the Schulenburg Shorthorns with a final score of 66-34 in Schulenburg’s favor.
Wray put up 12 points, with 4 of his 7 free throws made. Upson got in seven points and Barnes and Braden hit six points each. Braden’s six points came from two 3-point shots.
The Cardinals will face Industrial on Jan. 19. They will play Rice in Altair Jan. 23 and back home to play Hallettsville Jan. 26.
