The Columbus Cardinals soccer team is heading into playoffs, and they are scheduled to start on March 26 at the Houston Stafford Municipal Stadium.

It has been an up and down season for the Cards but here are a few things to expect as they begin this journey.

First thing is effort, teams don’t sneak into playoffs on accident and the Cards are no different. This team had their back against the wall and in a must-win game to get in they beat Wharton 3-0.

That means something, obviously it’s a must-win game so they were supposed to win but it’s the way they did it that should make Cards fans excited. Before the Wharton game the Cards lost three straight where they gave up 14 goals.

They came into the game against Wharton knowing they had not been playing up to standard. They refocused against Wharton and scored more goals (3) in that one game than they had in the past three games (2).

So, they are competing again, and they are turning that corner at the right time.

The second thing fans can expect from this team is a couple of wins. Here’s the thing they are the last seed in the district, so they have nothing to lose.

A team with nothing to lose is the most dangerous team on the planet.

Couple that with a coach that brings the intensity and makes sure his guys are ready. That’s a recipe for success and history has proven when the Cardinals in any sport if they have the recipe for success, they usually capitalize on it.

Teams are looking at the Cards as an easy win, but the Cards are entering playoffs with a chip on their shoulder because they heard all the talk about them all season long while they went through rough patches.

So, they are going to catch a lot of teams on their heels and make some noise in the playoffs.

The Cardinals will start their playoff journey on March 26, at 6 p.m. at the Houston Stafford Municipal Stadium.
