Columbus Youth Football Federation (CYFF) traveled to Vanderbilt over the weekend for the third week of the youth football season. The Bantam division took the field first and beat Industrial 18-0. The team started the day with a fumble recovery by Sean Sutton. The team then marched down the field lead by quarterback Trey Kohleffel. Brennan Hicks put the Cards up early by running the ball in for the first six points on the day. K’Von Parker also scored on a rushing play to put the Cards 12-0 at the half. The defense saw numerous big plays from all members of the defense including Keyon Hemphill, Aaden Reggins, S. Sutton, T. Kohleffel, Sebastian Hernandez, Amari Stovall, KorDae Johnson, Christopher Quinn, Weston Krpec, Taylen Embry and B. Hicks. The Cards managed to add 6 more in the final minute of the game with a rushing touchdown scored by K. Johnson. The final score, Columbus: 18 Industrial: 0.
The Junior division took on Industrial in what was a defensive battle with the Cards coming out victorious, 6-0. The only score on the day came on a pass from Kiyan Johnson to Caden Hill. Fumble recoveries by Clayton Thomas and Kiyan Johnson helped keep the ball in the Cards possession however the Cards would not see the endzone.
The PeeWee CYFF Cardinals did not have much luck against a tough Ganado team. The lone touchdown on the day came from a rushing touchdown by Braylon Carter. The extra point was ran in by Draedyn Fuller. The PeeWee Cards lost to Ganado 33-7.
