JV Raiders allow late score for defeat

The Rice Raider junior-varsity football team traveled to Palacios on Thursday, Sept. 14. Despite leading for the majority of the game, the Raiders fell to Palacios.

TJ Jenkins nabbed an interception for the Raider defense. Diontrae Toliver scored a touchdown on a 36-yard run. Hayes Dingler kicked the extra point making the score 7-0.

The score remained 7-0 until the Sharks scored in the 3rd quarter. The extra point was no good, making the score 7-6.

The Sharks scored another touchdown in the 4th quarter and converted the twopoint try, making the final score 7-14.

Taft Rogers and Isaiah Mesa also played well for Rice. The Raiders are now 1-1 on the season and will travel to Tidehaven on Thursday, Sept. 21.
