Ladycats host alumni match for preseason tune-up

The Weimar Ladycats held their final preseason action of the year with their annual alumni match as they invited Ladycats from the program’s past to help the teams get ready for the upcoming volleyball season. Alums from as early as 1991 attended the match as they helped the current iteration of the Ladycats get prepared for what they hope is another strong season for the program. Weimar got a strong turnout from their alumnae as their connections with the school have stayed strong since their graduation.

The graduating classes from 1991-2003 assisted the JV Purple team, donning the name “The Golden Girls” as they were the graduates that set a strong foundation for the present-day program. Misty Mican, Tara Dilley, Rochelle Noska, Amanda Turlington, Heather Pavlu, Carrie Rerich, Kimberly Brandt and Jennifer Oncken Pesak were the former Ladycats helping oversee the development of the JV Ladycats as they hoped to pass their knowledge on to the future varsity Ladycats.

The classes from 2003 to 2017 played with the JV Gold as the next group of former Ladycats. April Mikulenka, Chelsea Soto, Crystal Pesak, Makaila Ramirez, Kendall Marak Hengst, Shelby Vacek, Brianna Rhodes, Madison Firkins and Emma Holland attended to compete with and help the Gold team get ready for their season before potentially making a step forward in their careers.

The most recent graduates from Weimar competed with the varsity team as they provided some experienced competition as freshly graduated competitors. Some were even as recent as the 2023 graduation this past spring. Brittany Martinez, Addison Eistner, Darian Smith, Morgan Brenner, Jaydee Martinez, Kelsee Cowart, Emily Eistner, Lauren Summers, Malarie Mican, Paige Pavlu and Kim Hinze were some of the recent Ladycat graduates that provided a competitive challenge against this year’s varsity squad.
