Ladycats punch their ticket to the playoffs

The Weimar Ladycats secure their spot in the playoffs as the third seed after winning back-to-back district games.

The Ladycats defeated Louise and Ganado to clinch their spot and will head into the playoffs with some momentum.

The Ladycats skipped the small talk and got right to business in their first matchup last week against Lousie.

They did not wait for plays to develop or lanes to open, they made their own lanes and developed their own plays on the fly. They were buzzing all around the court because they had a chip on their shoulder to show they are a playoff team.

The Ladycats posted a 36-point victory because of this bulldog type of mentality. They were all over Lousie from the start and when they got chances, they made sure the ball hit the bottom the net.

The Ladycats played like a team on a mission and wanted to carry it over into their game against Ganado. Their game against Ganado got intense, but the Ladycats stayed true and won a two-point win.

Ganado is one of those teams in the district that is just outside of the playoff picture and were willing to do anything to get in.

The Ladycats came into the game knowing that Ganado wanted to get their offense going early and establish a lead early. But the Friday night game called for defense on all fronts from both teams.

Whenever a team had a lead, it quickly vanished followed by a stretch of neither scoring. The teams took any basket scored against them personally and did everything they could to erase it from the scoreboard.

The Ladycats were able to get the last laugh and get a two-point edge late in the game to help them secure the victory.

With their playoff spot secure the Ladycats have begun preparing for their next opponent who has yet to be announced.
