Ladycats score a muchneeded victory

The Ladycats took home a win against Brazos in volleyball play on Sept. 1 while playing on Brazos’ turf. Through close scores in five sets, the Ladycats put it away in the fifth set with power plays by No. 11, Mican, No. 17, Hegar with a huge assist by No. 31, Summers.

Mican performed two aces, 18 kills, two blocks, three assists, and 26 digs. Hegar came away with three aces, 13 kills, four blocks, and 15 digs. With 33 assists, Summers dominated the court in setting up her teammates. Other Ladycats to make the win contribution was Elstner with 31 digs, Lacina with 14 digs, Koehn with five kills, five blocks, two assists, and seven digs.

Weimar sets were 25-24- 25-12-15 and Brazos sets were 23-26-17-25-13.

Weimar plays Ganado (there) on Sept.11, Shiner (there) on Sept. 15, and Wealder visits Weimar on Sept. 18.
