Vs La Grange, W, 3-1

The only set that the Ladycats lost in the early part of their season came against the nearby Lady Leopards as they battled to a tough match victory.

Weimar started things off with a big 25-14 win in the first set as they displayed some of the cohesion and effectiveness that has become a defining factor of their team this season. The next game was the problem area for Weimar as their offense fell short against La Grange. They fell in game two by a 25-19 margin as their offensive output waned a bit.

The Ladycats recovered in a big way in the following games, taking a tight, 25-21 win in the third set followed by a 25-19 win in game four to clinch the match victory.

Izzy Reeves and Lauren Hines had an impactful match defensively as they picked up 15 and 14 digs respectively to lead the team. Hinze and Madison Luckey added 12 setter assists each to help the offense move smoothly throughout. Chandley Tolbert led the way in attacking with nine kills while Janiyah Cooper picked up four blocks at the net.

Vs Fayetteville, W, 2-0 The Ladycats got their Yorktown tournament started with one of their most dominant performances of the season so far. Fayetteville was largely ineffective against Weimar’s impactful defense as the Ladycats held their opponents to 10 points or less in both sets.

Game one went to Weimar after they took a big 25-10 victory to open the tournament. The Ladycats followed with an even more convincing 25-9 win in game two to take the opening match win.

Vs Falls City, W, 2-0

Weimar continued their domination with another pair of big wins against their second tournament opponents. The Ladycats did not have to stress much in this match as they ran out to a 25-12 victory in game one and then a 25-14 victory in game two.

Vs Waelder, W, 2-0

The biggest win of the season for Weimar came against Waelder in the third game of pool play. They won by a combined 40 points between both sets as they won game one 25-6 and game two 25-4 on the way to an easy two game sweep.

Vs Nixon-Smiley, W, 2-0 Weimar’s strong defensive effort continued into their final match of pool play. They started their match against Nixon-Smiley with a big 25-8 win in the first set to reach a three-set streak of holding teams to less than 10 points. Weimar’s opponents broke that threshold in game two but still fell in a 25-14 effort.

Vs Faith Academy, W, 2-0 The first match of bracket play continued to go in Weimar’s favor as they took a big victory against their first-round opponents. The Ladycats won game one 25-10 before following with a 25-15 victory in game two.

Vs Fayetteville, W, 2-0 With a rematch set against Fayetteville in the semifinals, the Ladycats engaged in a much more competitive match than in their opening contest against the Lady Lions. Fayetteville scored more points against Weimar this time, scoring 13 points in a loss in game one before responding with 21 points in a game two defeat.

It was the only time in the tournament that Weimar allowed 20 points or more in a single set.

Vs Tidehaven, W, 2-0 Weimar had a competitive championship game, but they still managed to hold their opponents under the 20-point threshold in both sets. Tidehaven had their best game in the first as they scored 19 points in a 25-19 loss. They let go of the rope somewhat in the second as Weimar won by double digits in a 25-14 triumph to claim the Yorktown championship.
