The Weimar Wildcats entered round one of football playoffs against the Mason Punchers. Unfortunately, the Cats couldn’t come up with the win and lost to Mason with a final 40-7 score.

Defensively the Cats were led by solid tackling nights from Jose Ramirez and Joey Ramirez, along with Nunu Wilson, who produced an interception.

The Cats played with extreme heart and determination and took a 7-6 lead into the second quarter. At times, the Wildcats had difficulty wrangling the Mason QB who was able to push the Mason lead to 20-7 at halftime.

After receiving the ball to start the second half Mason methodically moved the ball down the field to extend the lead to 26-7. From there the game was a defensive battle until late in the fourth quarter where Mason was able to tack on two more late scores.

The Cats close out the 2020 football season with a 2-7 overall record.
