Coming off of two tough losses the Rice Raiders prepare to travel to East Bernard for their final game of the season.

Since it is the last game of the season, they will have nothing to lose and will be pulling out all the stops to come away with a victory on Friday night.

Being the road team, the Raiders will be looking to play spoiler to the Brahmas as they looking to pick up some momentum before entering the playoffs. The Raiders have a tall task ahead of them but a team with nothing to lose is a dangerous team.

Knowing they are not going to the playoffs the Raiders will dig deep in their playbook to find something unexpected to catch the Bahamas off guard then build on that momentum. The Raiders much like the volleyball team has a surplus of underclassmen on their roster and seeing it is the last game of the season they have no reason not to.

Averaging 26 points a game on offense, the Raiders are going to need a big push front their offensive unit. Limiting turnovers and effective trips to the redzone will be crucial for the Raiders success Friday night.

In addition to that, establishing the run early to help open the field up a little bit more, allowing freshman quarterback Kor ‘Dae Johnson to see his options down the field a little bit better. Johnson is very athletic and can escape pressure with ease and being able to see his receivers open down the field clearly benefits the entire offense.

While the offense has an opportunity to make a statement on Friday so does the defense as well. On the other side of the ball the Raiders are averaging 27 points against while the Brahmas are scoring 34 points a game.

Success on the defensive line is going to be the key to victory on the defensive side of the ball. If they can stuff the run and limit the big plays while getting after the quarterback and forcing a few turnovers it will go a long way.

The Raiders will kick off against the Brahmas on Friday, Nov. 3, at East Bernard High School where they will look to execute their gameplan and close out their season on a high note.
