The Weimar Ladycats fell short on Tuesday night against the Shiner Lady Commanches.

On the mound for the Ladycats was freshman Malarie Mican. Mican has seen a lot of mound time so far, this 2019 season and the Ladycats are half way through their district season. Mican has a lot of control of her pitches but it just happens that the opponents can adjust to what she happens to be throwing. The Ladycats and Lady Commanches both went scoreless in the first inning.

In the second inning Shiner was able to take the lead and putting up one run on the scoreboard, Ladycats still had no runs, Ladycats 0 – Lady Commanches 1. Also, in the third inning the Shiner Lady Commanches were able to put up two more runs, while the Ladycats are still scoreless Ladycats 0 – Lady Commanches

3.

Bottom of the fourth inning with one runner on base and no outs, freshman Skylar Heger hits a two-run homerun over left center field. Sadly, this is all the Ladycats could put on the scoreboard this inning, Ladycats 2 – Lady Commanches 3.

The fifth inning remained the same neither team was able to come across the plate, there was some awesome defense going on to allow no runs. The Lady Commanches scored one run in the sixth as well as in the seventh. The Lady-cats had a tough hard battle but could put the ball where it needed to be placed to allow some runs to come across the plate. The Ladycats were able to score two more runs as well, both runs came across in the bottom of the seventh inning. With this being the Ladycats first lost they are now to 5-1 in district.

The Ladycats had an open day on Friday March 22. Their next scheduled game is to be played in Brazos Tuesday March 26, varsity only and first pitch is to be thrown at 6 p.m.
