Spring Break is a taste of what’s to come

Two Fridays ago, Balfour, a high school memorabilia company, came to Columbus and distributed caps and gowns to everyone. For some, it was a wake-up call. I think I speak for everyone in my grade when I say that this year is passing faster than anyone could have expected.

People are getting their acceptance or declination letters for college, people are filing for federal student aid and loans, or scholarships, and others are preparing to enter the military or go straight to work.

It seems as though we are all getting ready for the next step for us, whatever that may be, and this school year know that this plan will be the most rigorous academic mission I’ve undertaken to date. I have no idea if I’m capable of this workload, but I believe I am.

Regardless of what I believe, I know life has a tendency to throw curve-balls. My plan is liable to be shot to ribbons for any plethora of reasons.

As a young person facing much uncertainty in life, I understand why it is said that men fear the unknown.
