COLUMBUS – The public is invited to attend the Columbus Education Foundation’s “Launch Party” on Saturday, July 22, 4-6 p.m. at Hound Song Brewery.
“ We’re cal l i ng it a ‘Launch’ since this is our first community-wide campaign to build scholarships,” Becca Edmiston, CEF committee chair, said. “We’ll have light refreshments and a cash bar serving beer, wine and soft drinks. There’s no entry fee. All proceeds from a raffle and ‘Cakes ’n More” auction will generate funds for Columbus High School scholarships. Bring your friends and enjoy the festivities!”
CEF is a non-profit 501(c) (3) corporation founded to enhance educational opportunities for Columbus Independent School District students. Part of the mission is to create more scholarships for college and trade schools. With more community awareness, CEF hopes that even more scholarships will emerge through donations and memorials. The launch will share more about what’s happening to boost opportunities for young people beyond high school graduation, according to a release.
