SAS SAINTLY NEWS

It’s Book Fair time at SAS! The Ignatius Book Fair, “Fostering Faith, One Chapter at a Time”, will kick-off after this weekend’s masses. Parishoners are welcome to visit the SAS Library after mass on 2/24 and 2/25 to get first crack at the literary offerings. The Book Fair will be open 2/26-2/29 each day from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (2/28 until 7:30 p.m.). The entire collection of books is carefully hand-picked by the staff of Ignatius Press and Ave Maria University. The goal is to ensure that children have access to literature that can shape their minds and nourish their souls.

Last Friday, Feb. 16, Bishop Brendan Cahill from the Diocese of Victoria celebrated Children’s Mass with the SAS students. He visited classrooms afterward, speaking to the 3rd grade class and telling the story of how he was in 3rd grade when he decided he wanted to become a priest.

SAS welcomed Justin Crosby of WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads Of Great Students) on 2/8. He spent the day around campus assisting students with classwork, projects, and joined them during recess and PE. He also helped at drop-off, cafeteria, and dismissal. If you are a parent/grandparent of an SAS student and are interested in being a part of the program, please contact the school.

Registration for the 2024-25 school year has opened for current families of SAS. Active parishioners of St. Anthony and St. Roch may register students beginning March 18th. Open registration for all others begins on April 2nd. If you have questions about registration for next year, please call the school office at 979-732-5505.
