St. Anthony recognizes National Catholic Schools Week

National Catholic Schools Week 2024 is happening the week of Jan. 28, and this year’s theme is “Catholic Schools: United in Faith and Community.” Student teams comprised of all grades will participate in the week’s activities together with a teacher or staff member leading the way.

National Catholic Schools Week 2024 is happening the week of Jan. 28, and this year’s theme is “Catholic Schools: United in Faith and Community.” Student teams comprised of all grades will participate in the week’s activities together with a teacher or staff member leading the way.

An opening Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 28 at St. Anthony Catholic Church followed by an Open House of the school. On Monday, Jan. 29, St. Anthony will practice community activism by bringing in donations for the Blessing Box Project.

On Tuesday, Jan. 30, St. Anthony students will show what they know in a school-wide Knowledge Bowl.

Wednesday, Jan. 3 will begin with a Patriotic Rosary and end with an ‘80s dance party. On Thursday, Feb. 1, Saints will cheer on a game of Knock-Out between the 8th graders and St. Anthony priests and deacons and then take part in a scavenger hunt. Students will close out the week on Friday, Feb 2 with Mass, breakfast “tacos with your team” and a talent show.

The St. Anthony Gala will be held on Feb. 3 at the Southern Oaks Event Center. Tickets are $50 each and are available from any St. Anthony student or the school office. On Feb. 4, St. Roch CDA Court no. 2328 is holding their annual Turkey and Dressing meal at Mentz. Beginning at 11 a.m., dine in or drive through; advanced tickets are not needed.

Registration dates for the 2024-2025 school year will open as follows: current St. Anthony families may register beginning Feb. 20. Active St. Anthony and St. Roch parishioners may register starting March 18. Registration will open to the public on April 2. St. Anthony Catholic School will hold an Early Childhood Open House on March 5 from 9 to 10 a.m. for the opportunity to meet our 3K, 4K and 5K teachers. Call 979-732-5505 for more information.
