Age to file for jury duty exemption changes
According to the Colorado County Elections Office, the H.B. 2015 has amended the Government Code to raise, from 70 to 75, the age at which a person qualifies for an exemption from jury service on the basis of age and the age at which a person may claim a permanent exemption from jury service.

Suspect charged in Eagle Lake neighborhood stabbing
EAGLE LAKE – On July 4, at approximately 9:35 p.m., the Eagle Lake Police Department responded to the 300 block of Simmons Street in reference to a male and female who had been stabbed at the residence. The suspect had fled prior to arrival, the Colorado County Sheriff’s Office reports.

Weimar Lions charity golf tournament results
The Weimar Lions held a charity fundraiser golf tournament on Saturday, June 24. The winning teams are listed below: First Flight- all teams shot a 60 and in a scorecard playoff. The results are first place Mark Fitzpatrick, Stanley Pesek, and Bethany Smrkovsky; second place Jimmy Heger, Gary Braun, and Mike Alexander; and third place Donnie Dach, Ben Christen, and Buck Rerich.
