BANK ASSISTS WITH HOLIDAY COAT DRIVE
From the beginning of November until Dec. 31, the Columbus branch of Industry State Bank partnered with the Columbus Lions Club for their Holiday Coat Drive. Community members donated coats and jackets to assist those in need. The Lions Club distributed them on Friday, Jan. 13 at the Methodist Church Family Life Center. EMS to revamp area near opportunity center
COLUMBUS –The Colorado County commissioners met on Jan. 9. At the meeting, Michael Furrh, EMS Director, went before the commissioner court to discuss potential construction being done at EMS Station No. 3 at Eagle Lake. The station is currently located near the Colorado County Opportunity Center. Furrh asked for approval to seek proposal from contractors. Precinct 4 Commissioner Darrell Gertson pointed out that the current station is a key area due to accessibility in the event of accidents or other incidents that may occur where it is located. The court approved.
