On February 1st Officer Trench observed a vehicle speeding in the 600 block of S. McCarty and initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle. The driver was found to be driving with an invalid license with previous convictions. Subsequently, the situation escalated and Terrence Carter, 27, of Eagle Lake was arrested for driving while license invalid with previous convictions, resisting arrest, and possession of narcotic paraphernalia. He was then transported to the Colorado County Jail. 03/29/2023 12:00 AM

As a newcomer to Columbus in the early 90s, it was my pleasure to write/direct 3 plays for Columbus Historic Preservation Trust (CHPT) in the Stafford Opera House. The cast was local and our friends and neighbors filled the House. I hope that you have heard that there will be a play this year. It is part of the bi-centennial celebration. This year’s one act plat is titled “Happy Birthday Columbus”. It will portray an imaginary 5th grade class on the day of the birthday party. The students are played by your neighbors Ester Chandler, Gary Chandler, Ann Butler, James Yearwood, Billy Kahn, Tina Higdon, Bob Stiles, John Crews, Lori Ann Gobert, Dr Kirk Anderson, Kathy Salguero, Mark Candela, Darrel Appelt, Phillip Brummett, Allison Korrel, Beamer Stiles, Shirley Isbell, and John Isbell. 03/29/2023 12:00 AM
