After a blowout victory to start the series, the Wildcats got into a dogfight with the Falls City Beavers in the following games as they dropped a close one in game two and needed 11 innings to decide the victor in a decisive game three. The Bi-District Champions will move on to face Skidmore-Tynan at Yoakum High School starting on Friday, May 12 at 7 pm. Skin Cancer Awareness Month: Early detection saves lives
NEW YORK – Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the world, but there is good news: It’s also the cancer you can see on your body. By learning to recognize the warning signs of the disease, you can identify suspicious spots before they become dangerous. Most skin cancers are highly treatable when diagnosed at an early stage, but if left to grow, they can become disfiguring or even deadly. This is why the early detection of skin cancer is so important – it can save your life or the life of a loved one.

DAR chapter honors proper flag display
The John Everett Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution recognized John and Brenda Buehler for their proper display of the American Flag for the month of May. The chapter gave the Buehlers a Certificate of Award and the DAR yard sign. John told the chapter that the two 35 foot flag poles located at the entrance of the Buehler property were gifted to him by the developer of Cinco Ranch in 2007. John said there were three flag poles displayed at the original information centre and library prior to the land being sold. Knowing the new property owner would dispose of them, he offered them to John. He accepted. The 38-foot pole is on display of the property of a friends ranch outside of Mason, Texas. John also said, displaying the American Flag and the DAR yard sign reminded him of the song, “I’m Proud to be an American.”
