MARGARET “MARGIE” ALICE RABORN
After public school, Margie attended the University of North Carolina and graduated with a Physical Therapy degree. She joined the U.S. Air Force as a physical therapist and was stationed at Sheppard AFB, Texas where she met Robert “Bob” Raborn Jr. They married on Sept. 24, 1965. Two children, Robin and Robert, followed soon after in 1968 and 1969. Margie left the military to devote her time and energy to being a loving mother, wife, and homemaker.
After moving to many different places through the military, both internationally and stateside, Margie’s family returned to Texas after Bob’s retirement and they eventually landed in Alleyton, Texas where she and Bob have lived for the past 28 years. Her 59-year marriage was filled with love, respect, and shared religious and political views. She stayed active in her community and always tried to make things better for others.
