MARCUS GUTHMANN, JR.

He was born on April 19, 1947, to Marcus Henry Guthmann and Eva Sophie (Moeckel) Guthmann in Columbus, Texas. On Sept. 9, 1973, he married Billie Jean Alley.
Marcus worked as a Certified Welder / Fitter for many years. He spent time in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of Frelsburg Baptist Church.
Marcus loved and enjoyed his family more than anything. He also enjoyed his late-night Wheel of Fortune, Steak dinners at Pilsner’s Café, loved dancing with his wife, and drinking cold Coors Light. Marcus is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Billie Guthmann; daughters Michelle Guthmann of Florence and Melissa Carrera of Victoria; brothers Walter Guthmann, Sr. and Ivy Guthmann and wife Doris of Columbus; grandchildren Christina Shahan and husband Josh, Cody Montgomery
■ GUTHMANN, 7 and wife Calli, Cooper Armentrout, and Cheyenne Armentrout; great- grandchi ldren Kaiden Shahan, Paxten Murrah, Tensley Murrah, and Britten Montgomery.
He was preceded in death by his parents Marcus and Eva Guthmann; sisters Lola Guthmann and Bernice Supak; brother Bobby Guthmann; sisters-inlaw Larnette Guthmann and Gloria Guthmann.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025, from 5-7 p.m. at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Henneke Funeral Home. Pastor David Krieger and Pastor Gary Henneke will be officiating.
Burial will take place in Odd Fellows Rest Cemetery in Columbus.
Pallbearers are Michael Alley, Cody Montgomery, Cooper Armentrout, Joey Owens, James Guthmann, and Tommy Guthmann. Honorary pallbearers are Ivy Guthmann, Robert Lavedan, Joey Jones, Walter Guthmann, Sr., and Travis Noska.
