STEPHEN GEORGE SEBESTA
STEPHEN GEORGE SEBESTA

He graduated from Columbus High School in 1969. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and then went on to receive his law degree from the University of Texas. Steve then returned to his hometown to practice law in Colorado County. He spent most of his years practicing law at Gates, Stein & Sebesta in Columbus. In 1988, he ran and was elected as County Attorney for Colorado County and served his community for 8 years. Steve was a professional scholar and was always learning, so it was no surprise when
■ SEBESTA, 7 he returned to school after serving as county attorney.
He graduated from Texas State University with his masters in sociology and thus began his greatest calling, teaching. Steve was a professor of sociology at Blinn College in Brenham, Texas for over 30 years. During these years he touched many lives. He was an inspiring soul, what every teacher should aspire to be. Steve had a heart of gold and was always willing and ready to help someone out. He always saw the good in people.
Steve’s greatest joy in life was being a father figure to his “son” Taylor. Taylor came in to Steve’s life when he was just a baby; they were inseparable from that point on. Steve took great pride in raising Taylor and being a grandfather to his children. Our family was blessed to witness Steve mentor many kids over the years; opening his home and his heart to them.
Steve is survived by his son, Taylor (Madison) Stamper and his grandchildren; Lacey, Elliana and Will Stamper. His siblings Larry (Jodi) Sebesta of Columbus, Mary Beth (Doug) Tromblee of Bernardo, Carl (Patti) Sebesta of Cat Spring, Jean (Sammy) Condra of Bernardo, Lori Sebesta of Weatherford, and Allicyn Robinson of Bernardo. His nieces and nephews; Courtney (Mike) Yetter, Valorie Loessin, Marti (Bryan) Kubena, Bethany (Matt) Muzny, Jena (Arturo) Escamilla, Sarah (Sean) Schneider, Megan (Curt) Cox, Kristen (AJ) Vale, Hayley (Keenan) Myrow, Kiel (Christina) Sebesta, Stephen (Marissa) Tromblee, Rachel (Travis) Wolf, Katie (Grant) Billings, Hilda Sebesta, Kayla (Jacob) Korrey, Nicole Grawunder and fiancé Ronny, Adam (Carli) Sebesta, and Kathryn Robinson along with many great nieces and nephews.
