FRANK JOSEPH WROBLEWSKI, ESTELLE VERONICA WROBLEWSKI

Frank Joseph Wroblewski (born Dec. 2, 1932, in Brooklyn, NY) and Estelle Veronica Wroblewski, née Carlberg (born Aug. 4, 1935, in Manhattan, NY) died together on May 31, 2025, at their home in Columbus, Texas after almost 69 years of marriage. They wed on Nov. 24, 1956, after meeting at “The Dom”, a Polish dance hall in New York. Estelle was a telephone operator in New York, and Frank was a mechanical engineer returning to school to get his master’s in mathematics when they were married.

Over the years, they lived in New York, Virginia, New Jersey, California, Wyoming, and, most recently, Texas. Frank worked at NASA, Boeing, Pratt & Whitney, Foster Wheeler, the Brooklyn Naval Shipyard, the Long Beach Naval Shipyard, and England Trucking Company. Estelle was a supervisor at the Bell Telephone Company, an executive assistant to the vice president of the University of Wyoming, and a library supervisor, also at UW, before retiring in 2002.

They relocated to Texas in 2009 to be closer to their son, Anton Wroblewski, and daughter-in-law, Bonnie Gulas-Wroblewski, of Alleyton. Estelle enjoyed cooking, crocheting, needlework, sewing, jigsaw puzzles, reading about history, walking, birding, and occasionally smoking and having a shot of whiskey. Frank spent his time researching the interplay of philosophy, natural languages, and mathematics, baking, collecting books, videos, and music, and arguing with neighbors. They also enjoyed visits to local parks, lakes, and historical sites. Most people who met them were convinced that the characters of Frank and Estelle Costanza in the television show “Seinfeld” were based entirely on Frank and Estelle Wroblewski. They were inseparable in life and by sheer, accidental coincidence, they departed this world together, undoubtedly, to continue their bickering in the next one. Rest in peace, youse guys.
