JAMES ALLEN HORNDT
He was born on March 29, 1954, to Clarence William Horndt, Sr. and Onie Mae (Stancik) Horndt in Henderson, Texas. On Sept. 16, 1978, he married Becky Ann Glueck.
Jim worked as a welder/ mechanic, or more importantly, a jack of all trades for many years.
He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Knight of Columbus Council #2971, and Woodman of the World.
Jim was a Southern good ol’ country boy. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with

his girls and family, playing golf with his sons-inlaw, laughing, beer drinking and spending time with family and friends. He always looked forward to spending quality time and hugging his granddaughters and grand dog. Jim never met a stranger, and his laugh could be heard from a mile away.
Jim is survived by his wife Becky Horndt; daughters Stephanie Watson and husband Dean, Sarah Torres and husband Jesus, and Elissa Perez and husband Anthony; sisters Carolyn Bartosh and husband Larry, Patricia Flores and husband Arthur, and Dawn Cardenas and Oscar Sanchez; brother J.R. Horndt and wife Ruth; grandchildren Amelia Watson, Norah Torres, Valentina Torres, and Reyna Torres.
He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Onie Horndt, Sr. and brother Michael Horndt.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Aug. 21, 2025, from 5-6 p.m. and Celebration of Life and Sharing of Memories from 6-7 p.m. at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, Aug. 22, 2025, at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Columbus, Texas. Fr. James Dvorak and Deacon John Glueck will be officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. at church.
Interment will follow in St. Roch Catholic Cemetery in Mentz.
