He was born to the late William F. “Bill” and Gerlee (Gipson) Reynolds on Sept. 12, 1946, in Moberly, Missouri. He was a 1964 graduate of Higbee High School in Higbee, Missouri.

Ernie proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1964-1967. He married Patricia Hamman in Columbus, on June 5, 2004.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Martin Eugene Roberts, mother-in-law Patsy Hamman, son Bobby May and son-in-law Jayson Hess.

Ernie is survived by daughters Sheila Reynolds Hess, Leslie Guthrie (Jonathan) and son Michael Reynolds. Siblings Leon (Marcia) Reynolds, Jerry (Jeane) Reynolds, Charlie (Phyllis) Reynolds, and Blanche (Perry) Wright. He is also survived by his grandchildren Kaitlee (Kalob) Dale,

Kolten (Kaitlin) Hess, Kassidee Hess, Alaynee (Jack) Hess, William Reynolds, Dutch Reynolds, Aubrey and Austyn Guthrie and great-grandchildren Maverick, Karson, Waylon, Kreed and Kollins.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, Augu 22, 2025 at 3:00PM at Christian Gospel Church of Columbus, 100 Camp St., Alleyton, TX 78935.
