WILBERT ANTON DVORAK

He was born on June 13, 1936, to Vaclav and Mary (Kulhanek) Dvorak in Lone Oak. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Frelsburg.
Wilbert attended both, St. Joseph’s School and Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School, where he completed through the 8th grade. During his lifetime, he enjoyed the Houston Astros baseball and watching Dallas Cowboys football. Also, being outdoors, hunting in Colorado, and tending to his cattle. Wilbert cherished time with family and helped start the annual Dvorak family reunion; which he continued to look forward to each year as he gathered with extended family members. He was employed by Barten, Horton & Horton Gravel Pit, and worked for Texas Lumber & Construction in Columbus until his retirement.
Wilbert is survived by his brother and sister-inlaw, Jerome and Barbara (Drawe) Dvorak of Columbus, TX as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sister-inlaw, Raymond and Doris (Schweke) Dvorak, Justin and Louise (Shimek) Dvorak, and Victor Sr. and Charlene (Gully) Dvorak; sisters and brother-in-law, Bessie and Dennis Wilde, Evyline and Sylvester Zapalac, and Lydia and Eddie Evanicky and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2025, at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. A prayer service and rosary led by Deacon Dwain Dungen followed.
On Thursday, Sept. 4, 2025, there was a 9:30 a.m. parish rosary at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Frelsburg. The funeral service followed at 10 a.m. with Father James Dvorak presiding and Father Bob Knippenberg con-celebrating. Interment followed at the parish cemetery.
Pallbearers were Dennis Wayne Wilde, Wilfred Wilde, Sylvester “Sonny” Zapalac, Glen Dvorak, Eric Dvorak, Daniel Dvorak, Kevin Dvorak, and David Dvorak.
Honorary Pallbearers were Randy Dvorak, Larry Evanicky, Barry Holcomb and Jerry Dvorak.
A special thanks to the employees at Trucare Living Center, Amedisys Hospice Care, and Dr. Bart Klaus.
