MARY ANN WARD

Mary Ann Ward, born May 11, 1954, to George Kazmir Sr. and Adela Kazmir, passed away peacefully on Nov. 6, 2025, at Hermann Memorial Hospital in Houston.

Mary grew up in Sheridan, Texas, where her childhood was filled with family, hard work, and love. Her parents owned a small café and beer joint in town, and it was there alongside her sisters, that she learned to cook the delicious meals that would become her trademark.

She attended school in Sheridan until 1970, when Rice High School opened, proudly graduating as part of one of its first classes.

Mary’s work ethic was unmatched. She spent over 20 years in the oil and gas industry and worked many roles in the food industry before finishing her career at Utex. She was the kind of woman who could do anything she set her mind to – and usually did it with a grin and little sass.

She loved football, drag racing, and cheering for her boys and grandkids in everything they did. Her greatest joy was watching them grow, laugh, and live fully. She never missed a chance to travel, gamble a little, or meet up with her high school girlfriends, sti ll laughing about the same old stories.

Mary was a devoted member of Columbus Family Worship Center, and she lived her faith through the way she loved and cared for others.

She was preceded in death by her parents George Kazmir Sr. and Adela Kazmir; brothers George Jr. and Bennie Kazmir; and sisters Shirley Pittman and Diane Yow.

Mary is survived by her brothers Billy and Eugene Kazmir; sons Michael Til l and wife Rebecca Till, Cody Ward and wife Amber Ward, and Dakota Ward; beloved grandchildren Madison, Carson, Samuel, Kel lyn, Knox, Kayden, Kruze, Weston, and Khora, all of whom were the light of her life.

Vis itat ion wi l l be Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025, at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus, from 4 to 7 p.m. with a rosary to follow at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be Friday, Nov. 14, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Henneke Funeral Home. A burial wi l l fol low at Cheetham Cemetery in Sheridan, with a luncheon to follow at Sheridan Community Center.

Memorials may be given to Columbus Family Worship Center, 3231 Columbus Loop, Columbus, TX 78934 or the charity of your choice.

As Mary would say with a laugh and a spark in her eye, “Awww Hell, Boy”.

Her love and laughter will live on forever in those who were lucky enough to know her.
