FRANCINA HUSKEY

Francina Huskey, age 83, passed away peacefully on Dec. 11, 2025 in Columbus.

She was born on Oct. 1, 1942, to the late Hubert and Naomi (Cassidy) Ferguson in LaMarque, Texas. On June 26, 1962, she married Sovola L. Huskey Jr. They enjoyed 63 beautiful years together.

Francina is survived by her loving husband Sovola; two children, Keith Huskey (Rhonda) of Cat Spring, TX and Marieta Frazier (Donald) of Tyler, TX; five grandchildren, Culley Frazier (Lamie), Mariah Hall (John), Elise Otwel l (Hayden), Brandy Robinson (Taylor), and Cheyenne Rogers (Jesse); 11 great grandchildren with a 12th on the way; two sisters Donna Lester and Linda Williams; one brother Wesley Ferguson (Diane). She also leaves many other family members that will sadly miss her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her twin brother Hubert Ferguson Jr., brother Don Ferguson and sister Sandra Clegg.

Francina was a member of Lissie United Methodist Church. She was a very artistic lady, able to create anything she wanted regardless of the medium. She spent many years baking delicious desserts to include beautiful wedding cakes for each of her children. Many family and friends got to partake of her efforts. She took great pride in having a stunning home inside and out with beautiful flowerbeds and many gorgeous flowers.

She would go all out decorating for holidays with Christmas displaying many of her hand painted Santas. However, her favorite past time was creating ceramics. She entered competitions and won numerous awards for her pieces. She did not just paint, she did the ent ire process from pouring the mold until the piece was completed. Many hours were spent producing every composition. She found great pleasure making her ceramics, many have and will continue to enjoy her efforts.

Funeral service was held on Monday, Dec. 15, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus, with Reverend Stan Warfield officiating. Visitation was from 9:30 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

Interment was at Forest Park Cemetery East in Webster, at 2 p.m. on Dec. 15, 2025.

Honorary pallbearers were Keith Huskey, Donald Frazier, Culley Frazier, John Hall, and Braden Hall.
