REV. J.V. HAMMAN

J.V. was born in Edna, Texas on Aug. 14, 1931, to John Voidel Hamman and Lucille Green Hamman. He joined the Army in 1948 and became a champion boxer until he was deployed to serve in Korea. He was honorably discharged in 1952.
He married the love of his life, Patsy Nell Price, on Nov. 26, 1953. J.V. was then saved and gave his life to the service of the Lord. He entered the ministry and served as pastor to the Assembly of God Church in Columbus, Texas while also filling in multi-cultural services during the 1960’s wherever needed. He also pastored at the Trinity Full Gospel Church in Edna, Texas, and held numerous non- denomi nat iona l services through Harvest Network Ministries. J.V. and Patsy together served in the ministry for over 60 years.
J.V. was a great prayer warrior and a humble man. Many people turned to him for prayer, spiritual guidance and encouragement. God greatly blessed his life and made passing a joy to be with his savior.
J.V. is survived by his children Patricia Reynolds, Pamela Rodriguez (Martin), James Hamman (Beth), and Clarence Hamman; nine grandchi ldren and 22 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents John Hamman and Lucille Lee; wife Patsy Price Hamman; sister Charis Kellar and grandson Bobby May II.
Visitation was Sunday, Dec. 21, 2025, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus. Funeral service was Monday, Dec. 22, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Henneke Funeral Home with Martin Rodriguez officiating. Burial followed in Odd Fellows Rest Cemetery in Columbus.
Pallbearers were James Hamman, Clarence Hamman, David Bornemann, Blake Paquette, Jonathan Guthrie, and Franky Hamman.
