CAROLE LINDA ALSWORTH

CAROLE LINDA ALSWORTH

Carole Linda Alsworth passed on Dec. 31, 2025, at 81 years of age, in her home in Columbus. She was born March 1, 1944, in Laredo, Texas, where her mother Viola Schindler Lyons, and her father Willet Alsworth Jr., were stationed in the military. They eventually moved to Houston, Texas, where Carole grew up and went to San Jacinto High School, and later attended Sam Houston State University. She worked in advertising for 15 years before she became a free-lance artist. Carole loved her many pets tremendously. Since she never married, these were her family in every sense of the word. You will see them in most of her pictures, because she wanted them near her always. Another love of hers was the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, of which she was a lifetime member. She served on many committees with the rodeo, and it was a large important part of her life. She dreamed of building a log cabin in Columbus, Texas, but after finding a charming Victorian cottage in Columbus, she chose that place to live for the rest of her life. She loved creating unique jewelry, looking for antiques, creating art and wood working for home and yard decor, and often sold them as a business. She loved her country, and no place more than Texas! She had a strong love of family and the many friends that were like family to her. She was a unique character who lived life on her own terms. Carole will be buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Antoine Road, Houston, with her parents and grandmother.
