At the time of his passing in 2021, they had been happily married 74 years. During their marriage they welcomed three children, a son and two daughters. She worked for several years for Merle Norman in Columbus, where she made many friends. She was also a member of St. Roch Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters of America, in Mentz, Texas.
She especially enjoyed baking cakes and pies and always had cookies on hand for the grandchildren. She was known for her Coconut Cream Pie and Sunshine cake. She made many of the wedding cakes for her family members. Her other passion was sewing. She especially loved sewing special occasion dresses for herself, children and grandchildren. Much of her relaxing time was spent riding around the property checking cattle with Sidney and working in her garden and yard. She enjoyed all flowers but gave special care to her African violets.
