VIOLA MARY (MIETH) KEYSER
VIOLA MARY (MIETH) KEYSER
Viola was born on Jan. 6, 1939, in New Ulm, Texas to Louis and Hilda Mieth. There were four children in this family, Viola being the oldest. Stanley was next, Ruby, and the baby Linda. Life was hard growing up on a farm.
Viola met Adam Leo Keyser, Jr., and they were married on June 16, 1959. They lived in Columbus, East Bernard, and the Needville area. Adam died at an early age, leaving Viola a widow. She fought and struggled.
Viola got her GED, so she could better herself. She worked for Texas Instruments

in Stafford, Texas for many years and then continued to work for BAE Systems in Sealy Texas where she would retire at the age of 74.
Viola lived her dash (—) in her life to the fullest. But at the end of her life, not so much. Her favorite song was “People Are Crazy” by Billie Currington.
My dad waited for my mom for 37 years to join him, and I’m certain they are in heaven dancing together. When you look up and see the stars twinkling, that’s them.
Viola was buried on Dec. 29, 2025, with her sonin- law Bradley Chas, who passed away on July 15, 2025. Funeral service was private at St. Anthony Catholic cemetery. Survivor is daughter Shirley Chase.
Rest in peace, dear Viola, your work here is done, and your reward is eternal. Your spirit will remain with me inspiring me to live with the same grace and compassion you demonstrated every day. As you set forth into eternity, may your gentle spirit find peace in heaven.
Your family can no longer see you with our eyes or touch you with our hands... but we feel you with our heart forever.
There are days we wish just once more we could see you smile. Just once more, we could hold your hand; hear your voice, feel the comfort of your presence beside me. Grief is strange that way. It reminds you of everything you can no longer do — the hugs that won’t happen, the conversations that won’t be finished. The simple moments that once felt ordinary and now feel priceless. But love doesn’t live only in what we can see or touch. It lives deeper than that. It lives in the quiet strength you taught me. It lives in the lessons you left behind; in the way we carry your words into our hardest days. We feel you in the sudden warmth that comes over us when we think of you. In the memories that rise gently and sit with me awhile. In the courage we didn’t know we had, until we needed it. You may not walk beside us the way you used to, but you walk withing us now in our choices... in our kindness... in our heart. And that is a place with no distance, no silence, not even heaven can take you from. Forever isn’t just a word. It’s where you live now in our heart.
