EVELYN SYLVIA (VASEK) KNEBLIK
Evelyn was born on June 19, 1927, to Louis and Caroline (Biel) Vasek at home in Fayetteville, Texas. On Oct. 23, 1951, she married the love of her life, Arnold Kneblik, in Fayetteville.
In her younger years, Evelyn helped with the family farm, doing chores alongside her brothers and sisters. She also attended St. John’s Catholic School in Fayetteville until the 7th grade. After marrying Arnold, they made their home in Lone Oak and worked together

on the farm. They welcomed son Jimmy in 1952 and daughter Carolyn in 1955. Evelyn was an avid gardener and baker. She loved to sew and quilt. Later on, what Evelyn enjoyed most was spending time with her friends and fami ly, especial ly her grandchildren. Days at Granny’s house meant quality time in the kitchen, whether it was listening to Polka Party Time and dancing, making homemade noodles, cooking, baking, and LOTS of eating. Granny did not let you go hungry!
Evelyn was an active member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Frelsburg, St. Anne’s Altar Society, and KJZT Fayetteville.
She spent the past nine years at TruCare Living Center in Columbus until her beautiful, long life ended at the age of 98 years, 9 months and 13 days.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Arnold William Kneblik, her daughter-inlaw Kathy Kneblik, her sisters Sidonia Kasmiersky, Edith Orsak, Bessie Stammann and Nol l ie Meindardus, brothers Jerome Vasek, Edwin Vasek, Laddie Vasek, and infant brother Rudy, and brother- in-law Victor Havel.
She is survived by her son, Jimmy Kneblik of Lone Oak, daughter Carolyn Canik and husband Al Gene of Frelsburg, grandchildren Bradley Kneblik and wife Laine, Aaron Cani k, Alyssa Bookout and husband Nathan, Lori Grissom and husband Jerry, Ashley Glueck and husband Joseph, and Chelsea Bubak and husband Clayton, great-grandchildren Trenton and Braxton Kneblik, Colson Geesee, Kennedy and Reed Keller, Austin and Alana Canik, Mitchel l, Addison and Logan Bookout, Brandon (Alexis), Bailey (Jasmin), and Keegan Grissom, Ridge Hale (Alexis), Emerson, Bella and Delaney Glueck, and Oakley, Callum and Asher Bubak, her great-great-grandchildren Beau and Emery Kneblik and Ashton Grissom, sister- in-law Margie Vasek, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitat ion was held Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus beginning at 5 p.m., followed by a Parish Vigil & Rosary at 7 p.m.
A Funeral Mass was held at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Frelsburg on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at 2:00pm, preceded by Visitation at 1:00pm and a Parish Rosary at 1:30pm and followed by a burial at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bradley Kneblik, Aaron Canik, Nathan Bookout, Jerry Grissom, Joseph Glueck and Clayton Bubak. Honorary pal lbearers were Alyssa Bookout, Lor i Grissom, Ashley Glueck and Chelsea Bubak.
